i want to turbo my stang and I found a single turbo for the 96 to 04 mustangs. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Must...ies?hash=item518b541e36&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245) I am dropping a new motor in the car but i dont know which one to drop in. The first one is from Modular Mustang Racing ( go to products then long blocks and it is the first one part number 402600. Or should i go with the stock block that comes out of the 2004 mustang gt. Which is the best motor to single turbo and can take the boost?

If you are planning on boost, I would definately go with the MMR longblock. If you are going turbo, you will probably end up hurting the stock '04 engine pretty quick once you start making descent power, and then you will be right back at looking at a forged setup.

I would be extremely wary of "eBay" turbo kits for any car. The turbo is probably a "China" turbo meaning it's dodgy. There's also no tune with it, no injectors and so on. You'll also notice that the exhaust manifolds shown are for 4V heads (at least the vendor is honest about that) which means you're still on the hook for 2V turbo headers for your GT.

Don't be suckered in by the cheap asking price. There's a reason why Hellion and other proper, full setups are more expensive and it's not that their makers are greedy.

I didnt take a look at the turbo kit, but Trinity is absolutely correct. My first turbo kit was for my '98 Camaro z28 back in 2001. I skimped, bought a cheap kit which at the time was about ~$3500 used. The car never ran right, I broke the ringlands off a few pistons when the car overboosted in 4th gear one night, and the car was on blocks within about 3 months with a trashed block, head, and 3 pistons. I had to buy a new engine and start over since the original engine was so trashed. Do it right the first time...trust me.

I'd personally stay away from turbo kits off Ebay. Here's a kit I've been looking at in roughly the same price range

If you can spend 4400 for block then pay 400 more and get mmr 900 longblock.
As for turbo I went with on3performance. I did upgrade my turbo to MpT70 and got pmas maf while I order my turbo kit.

I am making good power and only at 8.22 PSI I made 423rwhp and 454torque. Right now my gauge showes 8.5-9 psi so I should be well over 430rwhp.

Thanks you so much, yeah for the price I payed it's a kick ass kit. No more I have to worried about evo, sti, vettes e.t.c

Best run to date 12.4 @ 114mph with crappy 1.9 60'
My rear diff is going out so I don't hook for **** and my mt et street dr is bald
Once I take care of tires and rear diff it should be 11.6-11.8 sec easy.
