1969 mercury marquis 2dr hardtop with 64,xxx miles, 429 4bbl, c6 auto trans a/c p/db p/s. i bought her in 2005 from the orig owners son, the dad died and the son didnt want the car. the dad was a hot rodder from the old days and he lowered the car, hand made the fender skirts, and painted the hood. it had been sitting for a couple years and being a low mileage car it needed a few things done to make it road worthy. i dont mess around so i made dang sure i wasnt going to have a breakdown a couple hundred miles from home or down the street! within the last 18000 miles i have done......petronix electronic ignition conversion,plugs,wires,coil. aluminized dual exhaust with flo-pro mufflers and stainless tips, battery,alt,voltage reg,belts and hoses.radiator cleaned and flushed, h.d fan clutch, coolant flushed. trans filter,fluid,pan gasket,rear trans seal,u-joints. these big fords are hard on upper control arm bushings so i replaced them and the upper balljoints along with an idler arm. brakes- front raybestos pg pads,turned rotors,grease seals,hoses,pad hardware. rear-raybestos pg shoes,turned drums,wheel cylinders spring kit,axle seals.
replaced shocks with monroe's front and rear. replaced fuel tank,sending unit,hoses,added extra filters,had carb redone by pony carbs out in Arizona, sony cassette player mounted in a small console with a six disc cd changer mounted in trunk. factory am radio works good but there is not a speaker hooked up to it currently. a/c blows nice and ice cold, is still r-12. replaced the carpet with an acc carpet kit and floor mats. im sure i forgot something, long story short the car is right! the only thing it needs is a vinyl top and the drivers side seat rip repaired. so thats my 69 marquis summed up. feel free to ask any questions you may have.
