slicks help!

hey guys iwas given what i thought to be 28/9/15 " slicks i mounted them on some 10 holes and these things are huge! i think there 30's it doesnt say on them how big they are, i mounted them with 12.5 psi and they rub my ground effects i was wondering how low i can go with psi, and i have lake wood lower control arms and i can set it one step higher do u think this will help or should i just not bother going to the track!...thanks


and i know Run on sentence haha

12 and a half pounds of air is as low as I would go. You should be good with 15-16 psi.

ahh i have no damn luck....slicks wont work there 28's but there jsut to damn big.... i need 26's i have some 28/9/14's but i dont have a rim to put them on or know what rim i could use....i give up ill go with brand new this winter i guess!

i run 26x10.50x15 et streets on stock turbines and they are perfect at the track

With a GT U will have a hard time with anything bigger than a 26.... Unless u want the 4x4 look

i have 28X11.50X15 on 8inch wide weld on mine and they rub on the body kit on burnouts. if i put the on a 10 inch wide wheel they should fit a little better. and the honestly dont look that bad on the car

the wheels i got dont look to bad but they rub without doing a burnout so im not going to chance ripping my ground effects off, everyone tells me i cant put a 10" wide slick on my msutang because it'll be to wide and wont fit on a 7" rim any truth to this?

IMO honestly i would run a 10" or in my case a 11" wide slick on at least a 8" or 10" wheel. thats just me. if you got a wider wheel for those slicks, like a 10" wheel, you shouldnt have any issues

i found a set of 8" wide cheater slicks im going to run, not as good as a slick but better then street tires!

try it out and see how the car does.

ill eventually go to a drag radial for the street and straight slick for the track instead of the et streets

i would say im still going to spin and i wont get the right times out of my car, but it'll help compared to last year!

I would say spend the money on the right tire? You maybe end up going through 2 or 3 used sets, all the wrong size, when you could just purchase a new set, in the exact perfect size for your combo the first time.

yea well i would do that, IF i had money, or a job im training for my high pressure pipe ticket, and where i live theres not much to pick from for jobs and i wouldnt be able to put enough time in welding...gotta take what i can get both used sets i had were free so im not really complaining

lol i know where i got to go man, im going for union work, and the union is already going to test me, and then i need to get my alberta B course, so i can go to alberta and work, non union is good and all but u dont get a pention from it like u do in the union, i dont plan on doing high pressure welding here because theres none to be done.
