If the diaphram in my adjustable fuel pressure regulator was bad and was leaking what would my a/f gauge show at cruising speeds? I'm brainstorming before I go check my vam and afpr in the morning pending dry weather.

howso? If it was leaking that would generally mean its not holding pressure, which would make it go lean

I say rich as well...it WILL hold pressure, often times run even more pressure and it will also suck fuel into the engine via the vacuum line...

So then if swings I should be okay?
I'll put a guage on it next Saturday at 140's garage.

yep I broke a spring and it tore the diaphram. boy was I suprised when I pulled the vacuum hose off.

Well I've narrowed my rich condition to the afpr or vam but my gauge never reads rich. it's obvious when it's cold that its rich from the stumble. As soon as I turn it off and try to restart I get a flooded start and then white smoke. We'll find out next Saturday.

Replaced the Holley with a stock TC fuel pressure regulator and the car no longer has a cold idle stumble. I'll take her out for a spin and see if 3rd gear pops. I think I found my damn problems.

Well I guess I was wrong. The idle problem came back. The only thing left is the VAM could be reading wrong. I'll find out Saturday.
