Slight semi-bog/hestitiation 2000gt @ 2,000rpm

well seems like when im crusing or wut not around the 2,000rpm seems to have this bog type hestitiation slight feel to it, its not obxnious but it dont seem right, i havent owned this car long and what not but, if i floor it like im racing it from 1st - 4th it drives fine if i take it easy seems like around 2,000rpm it has this weird feel until it gets to about 2,500 or above and it goes away i dunno. possible its the gears w/ powerband but i think it was smoother than this when i first got it like 3 weeks ago, only thing i can think of is changing the air filter (which i havent done) or possible fuel filter. But i dont know?

I have exhaust and 3:90 gears.

fuel filter not a bad idea, I change mine every 25-30k.

Mine is doing the same thing. I changed the fuel filter about 5,000 miles ago, so I don't think that's it. I'll check the air filter tonight.

Where is the fuel filter located on the 2000gt? How do u remove/reinstall? How much do they run for $$?

mione does it too, but i think its the chip. it only does it from about 2k-2.2k. its like a miss. i need to pull the chip again and see if thats it

Mine does it too, changing fuel filter didn't help.I don't know what I'm going to do.If someone does something that fixes it, let me know.

yeah i changed my filter at 25k and im at 36k right now

I also changed my fuel filter and have the same problem. I checked my air filter and that was't it either. Also checked all my plugs. I don't get it.

Doesn't do it under WOT though. Wonder if my AF is just really jacked up?!?!?!

I noticed it after I put in my UD pulleys. May have something to do with the smaller crank pulley. But if I slow down or speed up VERY litle it goes away. Seems a bit worse when its not up to temp.

My clutch was slipping. So it seemed to be doing exactly what was described above. Obviously won't fix an auto, eh John?

same here, i have my stock clutch with the KB, it always has a hesitation when i punch it. and the rpm always go up to 2000 rpm everytime i step on the clutch pedal. i thought idle hanging gotta do something with the IAC but after i have a new Centerforce Dual friction and resurface my flywheel, the rpm drop very nicely and fast. no more idle hanging and hesitation.

My 2001 GT, 5 speed, is doing the same thing. I have done everything to try and fix it. I have not thought about the clutch slipping. Is that really possible on a 38,000 mile car? How can I check to see if that is it!?!

Well, in my situation, I had recently replaced the clutch cable with Steeda's cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster. Since I'm somewhat of a moron, I had it adjusted entirely too near the top of the pedal. Thinking I had damaged the clutch, I took it into a local shop. They wanted to try adjusting it first. Now the pedal has an entirely different feel to it. I'm going to assume it's the 'right' way to feel.

As for a car with 38k on it, anything is possible. All depends on how it's been treated. Some friends and I did the same thing on a '96 recently. The old cable was really stretched and frayed, but this caused his car to not go in gear rather than slip.
