Slight ticking coming from the back of the passenger side head area

OK, i dont think that its a head gasket leak...no antifreeze leak or anything. it sounds similar to an exhaust leak, but i have all my header bolts in and fastened good. its coming from the rear of the head. i have no idea what it is
my dad said that it could be a compression leak though. he said that sometimes air escapes out and sounds like an exhaust leak. any ideas??

My guess is that your part of your header gasket (not to be confused with head) is blown. Completely unbolt the header, pull the gasket out and have a look.

when you say "completely" cant i just leave in the 2 end gaskets?

header gasket would be the first thing to check. even if the bolts are torqued right if a peice got blown out the air can still get out and that hole will only get bigger. with the motor cold, start the car and quickly put you hand around the header/exhaust manifold and feel for air blowing out... it doesn't take the air coming out to get hot so do it quick.
