slits in front sway bar bushings???

i just pulled my front sway bar off to check the bushings and they are slit on one side so i can actually pull the bushing off the bar, i dont have to slip it off the end. should this happen?? or could this by why i have alot of body roll? ( sorry for the dumb questions....)

Yep, it's common for just the reason you noted. Because of where the slits generally are (on the 'side' of the bushing), it really doesnt affect anything. I think it's nice - the ones on the 88 dont have the slits and the 94's do. The latter was an easier install.
