My question is how can I fix the loose feeling with the steering wheel, I've tightened up the steering box as much as I feel it needs without causing binding. I know the Shelby drop has been mentioned before to give the car caster which should help.

I just want to know what has worked for someone else before I just start randomly changing things on the front end.

Check all the other steering parts for slack. Did you adjust the steering box with the wheels off the ground and the pitman arm disconnected?

I have all new inner and outer tie end rods so that should be ok. No? I had the car on the ground and just popped the hood and adjusted the screw on top of the steering box?

Is their an actual method of adjusting the box?

Yea the weight needs to be off the linkage to adjust the slack in the box. Check the pitman arm and idler arm for slack too.

Do you have manual or power steering?
I have the same problems with mine, I have PS.
I to tried adjusting the steering box like you while car was on ground
in a local parking lot doing 1/4 turns each try.
I wasn't aware either the car had to have the weight off the front end till I read D.Hearnes' post.
