Ive read that now with todays technology of pads that cross drilled or slotted rotors are not needed. Also Ive read that cross drilled rotors can lower temps 200 degrees but can crack. And that todays cross drilled rotors dont have the cracking problem older rotors had. Also that slotted rotors wont crack and lower temps, but only about 100 degrees. I plan on getting the Cobra brake upgrade kit for the front of my GT and can either go regular, drilled, slotted, or drilled and slotted. This car is my DD and starting next year I want to try some autocross and maybe club/track events. Which would be the best way to go. Ive found the regular kit for about $400 and its about $450 for the drilled or slotted rotor kit. Does anyone have any experience with the different rotors??
