Slotted or Cross Drilled or both?

Ive read that now with todays technology of pads that cross drilled or slotted rotors are not needed. Also Ive read that cross drilled rotors can lower temps 200 degrees but can crack. And that todays cross drilled rotors dont have the cracking problem older rotors had. Also that slotted rotors wont crack and lower temps, but only about 100 degrees. I plan on getting the Cobra brake upgrade kit for the front of my GT and can either go regular, drilled, slotted, or drilled and slotted. This car is my DD and starting next year I want to try some autocross and maybe club/track events. Which would be the best way to go. Ive found the regular kit for about $400 and its about $450 for the drilled or slotted rotor kit. Does anyone have any experience with the different rotors??

drilled rotors that are cast with the holes do not crack, cheap rotors that have holes drilled in them crack. i went with plain face rotors on my setup.

i would say get blanks. if you get any "upgrades" i would only get the slotted. in a DD you wont generate enough heat to need to cool them by 200 degrees. also, if you get drilled and slotted, you are reducing friction area on the pad, so you are practicly down to as much surface area as a stock size rotor. keep in mind that drilled, slotted, or drilled and slotted will increase wear on the pads and so being your DD its something to consider.
