slow rpm drop, how do you deal with it?

Hi everyone,

I've done the copper pipe mod to mt 2003 GT to fix the rpm drop which works pretty well once the car is warm. The problem is that it's cold here now in Chicago and until the car warms up the revs drop incredibly quick when it's cold, it gets annoying after a while.

I was just wondering how everyone deals with this? I'm thinking of just taking the cap out for the winter. Those of you that do not use the copper pipe cap mod do you wait for the revs to drop between shifts or do you just let the clutch slip out and bring the revs down for quicker shifts?

Yeah, it looks like a tuner or chip are going to be the only way to eliminate the problem. The best deal I can find is the SCT chip for $280.00, any other suggestions?
