Hi all,
Had the Cobra intake installed on my 94 GT Vert (62,XXX) miles a few days ago at my local Ford shop. The Cobra upper and lower had been cleaned and looked new, the older upper and lower had carbon caked on. Everything runs great, except it is now slower to start up. With the stock intake, I used to just have to barely turn the key, now with the Cobra, it turns for a few secords before firing up. Any suggestions? I thought it might come out of it after the computer "got used to" the new intake, but it hasn't yet.
thanks!

When you start the car does it stumble and seems as if it's gasping for something (i.e barely running). If so check your ignition coil. Mine was bad and was hard to start initially after sitting overnight but was ok once it was started. Put the stock coil on and Voooom fired right up. Peace.

It doesn't seem to be grasping for anything, and once it fires up it goes right to the proper idle and runs fine. I was just used to barely turning the key before the intake swap, now the starter gets a short workout each time I start it. I'll give the coil a look over though, thanks for the suggestion.

they may have advanced your timing a bit, sometimes when running more timing the car will turn over a few more times before starting

I agree...Thats where I'd look first...specially since it wasnt doing it before...
Timing being off will make for slower starts..I would think its retarded though?? Most people advance, and its not an issue...

Also check to see if there is a vaccum leak sound at all coming from the engine comp that can cause many problems. Don't forget, there is more volume in the cobra intake it takes more air to fill it.
