Wanted to get some of you guys opinions on the slp loudmouths. Think about installing them on a 97 gt. I've heard they sound with a catted pipe.

I have cats on mine, and it's still pretty loud. Sometimes I wish the car was a little more mellow, as I bought the car this way.

To be honest I'm not sure. I will have to find out what the difference is, and look under my car. I'll let you know.

If it's and off road pipe get the 2's. I have the 1's with on o/r x and it's kinda getting old. I mean it sounds mean but i want a little more tone. The 2's sounds really good. The 1's with a catted pipe sound fine too. What pipe do you have?

EDIT* the 1's are hollow. Just resonators.

Had LM2 and an O/R X on the 01 GT - great tone, not over the top but still had authority.

The 2 isn't as poppy on decel and sounds more like a chambered pipe. It's prob. the better sounding option if you have an offroad mid pipe. LM1s are crazy loud and a bit raspy up top, but they sound great IMO on some cars (I'm not 100% happy with my setup but I still love it!)

I have the 1's with a catted Magnaflow, sound is nice and can be loud if you want, especially at WOT but certain throttle positions they don't sound much different than stock.

I first had them with stock H-pipe, I liked the tone of the H somewhat better, it had a deeper sound.

My son had them with an O/R X and and it sounded PO'd!!!! He now has them with Shorties and it mellowed some, but still is waaaayyyy loud!

I think with the 1's you need cats, the 2's with O/R's.

This makes it sound like SLP sounds like poo. Going from the 1's to magnapacks is like going from 1's to the 2's...its a MAJOR difference.

I have a mac o/r h. Got my SLP catback dirt cheap ($125) with the 1's on it. It was abnoxiously loud with a terrible tone and really raspy. Swapped the 1's for the 2's and now it has a deep tone. A bit louder than my flows were, much more aggressive sound. Only time I dont like my SLP's are low RPMs and heavy load, such as crusing at 2000rpm and go half throttle or more. But I think this would smooth out with an o/r x...anyone have any experience with this?

Just for those who dont know, the 1's are a hollow case and utilize sound cancellation. The 2's actually have packing in them. Outside appearance isnt very noticeable. The 2's are larger in diameter than the 1's and a little heavier.

My opinion is that strait thru mufflers do not sound good with O/R pipes, if you want a good sound with strait thru you have to run cats.

A friend of mine had SLP longtubes, SLP O/R X pipe, and the LM1 catback on his '01GT. After about a week he started wearing earplugs when driving. It sounded like complete **** at about 120db.

I love my exhaust setup. SLP LM1 with Pypes Catless X-Pipe. It sounds pretty mean. The past week i cant tell you how many complements i got on my exhaust or how many people asked what i was running. Not recommended if you are around a lot of police though.

I ran them on my 97GT with the stock midpipe. It was pretty loud and had a good tone cruising, and they would gurgle on deceleration which I liked. Some people don't like it. If I could do it again I'd try them with an o/r midpipe since I like it loud

Uggghh....that thing sounds like 3-day old ass wrapped in ****!

After hearing that, I'll definitely recommend the Lound Mouth 2 system.
