how much? for the X pipe, the cats, the race pipes, the MIL eliminators + shipping from SLP was 650 dollars. The loudmouth catbacks are i believe 400 now, i got them for 350 when they were new and on sale. So about 1050 dollars for the majority of the exhaust system. you can upgrade to SLP's full length coated or uncoated headers without needing to buy a new 'shorty' X pipe, because the SLP x pipes are 3 peice designs that can be assembled and dissaembled easliy..... the SLP website is what i would reccomend for purchasing any of their stuff, i wouldnt want to go througha middle-man website, i'd rather buy the stuff direct. their site is www.slponline.com only problem though, SLP takes FOREVER to process your order and get it shipped. i'm on my 3rd day of waiting for my X pipe and accessories to ship from the factory.... As opposed to summitracings same-day or next-day shipping. When i get my offroad X pipe w/ loudmouth catbacks i'll record some sounds for you, so you can decide.

I agree with Deflashed: I don't judge a product on the name but on its quality and my own personal experience..I've been very pleased with SLP products so far...and I don't work for them..just a happy customer.

You can pass emissions with NO mufflers... as long as all your emiision equipment is still there (cats, etc)

i say they are crap because (this is all my opinion),
they have a crummy non-aggressive sound (compared to competitors)
their sound is really descibred well as "tin can"
they vibrated bad even though i couldnt have dont a better install of them
the interior noise was unbareable and it droned horribly, and when it droned AND vibrated, it sounded like a fart canned 4 banger, i actually felt embrassed by the sound it made.
they ARE more restrictive than the compitition
they ARE less superior aluminized steel (vs stainless)
they were the same price as my SLPs - and in my opinion, a muffler that on throttle, just shot raw poop out of my tailpipes.

but that's all my opinion. i could be wrong.

Wow.. my comments were respectful and tech based, but I guess you wanted to start a flame war. I'm sorry you "couldn't have don't a better install on them" as you say. Maybe thats why they sounded like a tin can. I've never heard anyone say the flowmaster 2 chamber sound is "like a fartcanned 4 banger".. What is the cliche muscle car sound if flowmaster isnt? obviously you have some unusual personal problems with flowmaster. Everyone compliments my combo saying its basically music to their ears. Maybe your ears interpret something else. My combo is one of the best combinations of smooth and aggressive that i've heard. enjoy your extra 2rwhp gain next to my ever so horsepower restricting flows.

Well, I had SLP Loudmouths installed in my 99 GT, and I was NOT impressed. Loud, yes...but the sound wasn't to my liking. If you want something that sounds like a beefy V6, go for it. If you want something that sounds powerful and aggressive, go with Flowmasters.

I have the American Thunder system in my 04 GT, with a BBK off-road H-pipe, and it sounds wicked. The sound is strong, and very loud at WOT. I get a lot of turning heads and attention, without the obnoxious noise of the SLP.

Someone in this post was mocking the Delta 40 seriers muffler, and I'm not sure why. The Delta 40 sounds just as deep and loud as the original 40 series, but the interior noise is MUCH better. When I had 40 series in my first Stang, long highway trips gave me headaches. Now, the sound is rich and still loud, but without as much drone and interior resonance.

Also, I never had a problem with Flowmasters rusting or being of OEM quality. That's absurd. The "polished" tips on a stock Mustang with go dull in a couple months without polishing, but the tips on Flowmasters NEVER go dull, if you wash them like ya would the rest of your car. Same with SLP, never had them go dull. But the SLP's rolled tips looked ugly on the inside without lots of cleaning due to the exhaust heat and moisture running out of the pipes.

Anyway, just thought I would share my experiences, since I have used all 3 of these products. Here's a link to another discussion about Flowmaster vs. Loudmouth--> http://www.modularfords.com/forums/.../slps-loudmouth-exhaust-13824.html#post125090

I love my SLP catback. I like it's sound way better than flowmasters, magnaflows, and macs. I'm not sure if I ever heard magnapacks in person, however.

As for inspection, you do not need to worry about failing with the mufflers.

One thing I would not do that I've seen mentioned in this thread is get an O/R midpipe. I think it sounds like ass. A lot of other people who have heard or done this seem to say it sounds like ass. There's a good reason for it, too. I'm actually paying extra money to have an O/R pipe with catco cats welded in coming next week, simply because it just sounds like ass without them. Maybe somebody else could chime in on this point.

Just in case they're still backordered: I have them in stock and we're selling the 99-04 Loudmouths at the same price. Let me know if we can help.
