Hey everyone, I'm new to the site and I had a question about SLP Loudmouth exhaust. Now I've heard this is the loudest system out there but how does it sound inside? Is it annoying on the highway? because I want it to be loud on the outside so everyones head will turn. Also, I was wondering if it still has that low throaty rumble that mustangs are known for. Sound clips would be nice if anyone has any. Thanks in advance...

SLP sounds like *****, its loud and has no tone. If you want a system that's loud and sounds good get the Borla Stinger catback and an offroad x pipe. I'm running this set up now and it turns heads every where I go. By the way Huston Performance sells the stinger for like $440 .

What the **** are you talking about? Have you ever heard it in person before? I've got it on my car and it sounds badass. Everyone (even other mustang owners) absolutly love it. I guess since this exhaust is different than the two exhaust systems everyone else goes with it makes this exhaust gay.

Btw, how can you shift? You've got an auto. Wouldn't it be more like gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

yes, i have heard it in person, and it still sounds like ass. no tone at all. sure its loud, but it sounds like an old POS truck. he asked about wanting loud and a classic mustang sound. you wont get that with SLP. all you get is the loud part.

BTW- an auto w/ 4.30s, TC and jerry mod will hand you ur ass as you try and shift through the gears. sorry i offended ur manhood by making fun of your crappy exhaust.

Come on!!!!! I love the way it sounds. I don't really like how it sounds with the stock h pipe, but I love my setup with the magnaflow x. I think with the Loudmouth, it's either you really like it or you hate it. To each his own I guess. It's definetly loud, but I love it. Anyways, here is a clip from mustangexhaust.com, it doesnt really sound like this, but it gives you an idea of about how loud it is.....

slp

I have the slp with a mac prochamber w/o cats and mac shorty headers. I gained 18hp above 2300rpm to 5600rpm with it. This is a gain of 5hp over the borla Stingers that I had on. The soound of the borla is good. But the slp sounds like a stock car. If you are looking for the coffee can sound then the borla is it. But if you are looking for race sound then the slp is going to give it to you, it also out performed the borla and is lighter buy 3lbs.

I am complimented all the time by people on how my car sounds, actually many say they have never heard a mustang sound so mean. I think this sounding like a truck stuff is BS coming from those with flowmasters. I personally have had them and they quality and insane sound of SLP wins hands down.

Only a gay person who likes fart cans would say that the SLP sounds like ass!

SLP=Classic '69 Mustang Sound...Period. It's the way a muscle car is supposed to sound.

BADGT, like the Aeigis!

Seriously, exhaust sound is a personal thing. The SLP has caused probably the most contraversy of any catback. Most love it...a few hate it. But let's be perfectly clear, the SLP sounds the closest of ANY exhaust I have ever heard similar to old muscle cars. Some say it sounds like glass packs (which it is not, but I agree), and some say it sounds like a NASCAR. All agree that it sounds "out of control" with an OR X-Pipe and this should only de done for racing...too loud and rough for the street.

I just drove home tonight from the mMovie rental store and I got "on it" after a stop sign. A guys flags me down. He is in his mid 40's (I am mid 30's). He has all blue ovals in his driveway. And his detailing his Expedition....there is a stock car in the garage (get the picture). He says "man, I have heard you comming past hear a few times and I just heard you open it up. What the hell is under the hood? That is the nicest sounding stang I have ever heard." He is shocked when I tell him it is a 4.6 lightly modded and then adds that maybe it is time to buy a stang again if he can make sound like that.

I will say that as a whole, i think the older fellas tend to like it more than the younger guys.

Oh well. I guess some people have no taste. Stick with your generic flows. Im glad an auto tranny with an ass load of money could beat my stock 5 speed. I bet if I put the same amount of money into my manual I could probably still beat the auto. You didn't offend my manhood by offending my exhaust. I don't get offended over small stuff like that. I happen to have another mustang with flows on it. Sound doesn't compare.

i never meant to offend anyone. all i stated was my opinion. isnt that what exhaust is all about?? it all come down to personal opinion. IMO, SLP sounds like ass, to others it is heaven to the ears. IMO, SLP has no tone at all, just is loud and thats it. I like the Flow sound since it is loud and has a great tone. I had a 97 GT w/ a 5 speed tranny be4 this stang, so i bought this stang (with an auto) since i know i can never be as consistant as an auto tranny. even though it will cost some money, i know it will kick ass once its done. to each their own, and at least we all drive stangs, isnt that all that all matters??? i just posted the "sound clip" as an inside joke between HoustonGT and me.
