That's cool Tom, I found some you tube videos...mostly mods...but I did find one pushrod, it was a fox and the engine sounded well built...and it sounded mean...

every car i've heard these on sound to me... too loud, usually sound like an old pick-up truck.

don't mean to be a negative-nancy type, but i've heard plenty of sounding 94-95's w/ nice mac/flowmaster/borla setups.

I think Cman1914 had them on his car (they were dumped IIRC). I dont know if there's a clip on Don John's or Mustang-Exhaust's sites though.......

I've been wanting to redo the catback on the '88 but them things ain't cheap.
Good luck with it Mr Will!

Paul, I don't take it as being negative.....I liked it the sound of the flowmasters when they were on but the dumps threw too many fumes into the car........I surely do not want a loud truck sound............just an agressive deep tone.......

thanks for posting the clip ..........it sounds loud and mean......maybe just a tad too loud for my old ears......

My good friend had them on his 94 gt and they did indeed sound like a farmtruck.. They do not have a nice tone to them at all.. Loud? Yes... Sound good? NO

I never have been able to figure that reference out. Near as I can figure, some tool came up with that when SLP first came out and now everybody that has never heard an SLP system in person just parrots what they read on the intraweb. I've got SLP 1's on both my LX and my wife's Cobra. We both regularly get compliments on how they sound during stoplight conversations.

Now I like the way that sounds.....I've been through a few muffler combinations and just want to get the "right" one...if there is ever a "right" one.....when you refer to SLP 1 is that the same as the loudmouth that Summit carries? Just want to make sure I am looking at the right one.

Have you heard the FMS catback? It has a good sound without being too loud.. too quiet for me but may be right for you...

I've always thought the slp's and magnapack CB's sounded badass. They sound ok with stock header/midpipe but really sound nasty with an aftermarket X and headers. I have kind of a poor man's slp on mine, dynamax bullets welded to stock tails w/ bbk shorties and a bassani X and I like the way it sounds.

I picked up my SLP LM1 from Summit. So they should be the same ones your looking at. Should be a 5 piece system. You can swap out the resonators with an SLP specific muffler if they are too loud for you. I know they offer 3 different "mufflers" for the system.

That's what I'm doing. I got brand new LM1's for practically nothing so I'm going to buy the power-flo cat-back and swap them out whenever I want

You might want to check out the Pypes Violators. I've heard a few of these and they sound mean.
I think the Magnapacks/Violators/SLP LM1/Spintech Pro Streets all sound REALLY mean with Longtubes and either H or X pipes.

I can't make my mind up between the Magnapacks/Violators/Pro Streets:SNSign:
