I posted this in tech by mistake, sorry for the double thread. I am going to leave the stock mid pipe on the car. Which of the 2 SLP catbacks will give me a more throaty sound with a stock mid pipe???

SLP Loudmouth I is your answer. The Loudmouth II is for a queit ride, well more so anyway. Both great products if your question is "more throaty sound"? Then the Loudmouth I is your answer.

They seem to have a nice throaty tone with a stock mid pipe. That is what I am looking for. I want a nice throaty tone with stock mid pipe. Most cat backs are to mellow with stock mid pipes.

LoL. Sounds like sh@t? Maybe to some... I think its relative guy...meaning it depends on the person listening to it. But if dude wants throaty with stock mid-pipe then its LM1 hands down.

IF you plan on running an offroad pipe in the near future, go LM2s. If you plan on staying with the stock midpipe, go LM1s.

There have been many threads on this very subject so try searching for some more opinions. Its really hard to describe just how loud the LM1s are with an offroad pipe. To get an idea, try this:
YouTube - Really Loud GT

Some like it, some dont. Personally I prefer a chambered muffler but to each his own. To the op, you should probably go LM1s since you are going to be using the catted pipe. Hope that helps

Im sorry. I guess I should refrain my statement and say: SLP1's sound like total **** when combined with an o/r midpipe. They can sound ok with the stock or a catted midpipe. However, I just prefer the sound of a chambered muffler.

Bottom line is its a matter of opinion and the OP needs to go on youtube and listen for himself.

The I's sound decent with a catted mid pipe. The 2's have a better tone to them and sound more muscle carish though. The 2's are also still pretty loud even with cats but in a tame way.

if you want a loudmouth cat back

make sure you are going to keep the stock midpipe or you will end up having a mustang that sounds like a dump truck at idle....and one that sounds like a v8 fart cannon at wot.

LM1's sound fine with my SLP X (granted it has high flow cats), the headers might help lower the noise and sweeten the tone a bit though. I have heard a few SLP combos that sound like crap. Best to find people with a setup and listen in person. Recorded audio can mask deficiencies in the sound (for good or ill).

If you want to know kinda how the LM1's will sound with windows up...
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Sorry I don't have any from pre-SC or pre-headers... might be one floating around some where with just a prochamber and LM1s but I'm too lazy to dig for it.
