Exhaust Question!

Hey guys,

I've got a sonic blue 05 GT being built on the 21'st (thursday!!), and have been researching for months which exhaust to get. (still havent made up my mind ) In any case, does anyone know what's the difference between SLP Powerflow and SLP Loudmouth's?? Thanks in advance

Powerflows have mufflers (small ones) and the Loudmouths are straight pipes!!!

SLP'S are loud enough to get you pulled over if you get on it. I already found out the hard way. I went by the cop shop and there was no cop in the car so I took the corner in second and laid her down and about a mile thorugh town guess what I see in my rear view mirror. Yepper christmas lights. Luckily he let me go but he wanted to express his distaste with how loud it was. However he did tell me I had a very nice ride. I love my slp's. If I had to do it over again I would have ordered them before the car arrived. . With much thanks to a guy on here named emporer jordan. He has great sounding clips.

I didnt actually order the SLP's I just had an exhaust shop build a custom straight pipe setup so it is basically the same thing just different tips but god I love the sound. I am going to be buying an off-road X pipe soon so I will probably have to run some kind of mufflers after that but I just dont want to lose the sound I have right now. Has anyone run the SLP kit with no cats?

I have the SLPs with hi-flow cats and it is crazy loud. When I was getting my Mustang tuned the other night all the guys there said I easily had the loudest '05 they have heard yet. It does sound good, but I do want to warn that it is loud and if you have bad neighbors or are scared about cops noticing you then I wouldn't recommend it. I would not recommend using straight pipes (nocats) with the SLPs since I have heard that Modular engines love backpressure and if you just run straight pipes your car might not run that well. I don't know if this is true though .

what cats are you running? did you run the SLP with the stock cats before upgrading to hi-flow, if so is it considerably louder?

are the SLP's a raspy loud or a grumble low toned loud...I want the deepest exhaust possible for my stang, but it's hard to judge just by sound clips. My buddy has a bassani x with magnaflows and it sounds terrible...very raspy. I don't want that! I'll order the SLP's right this minute if someone can tell me they are a nice, deep growl..but it's just hard to judge because I've heard so many differeny combonations in exhaust thusfar, and really can't make up my mind. Help

The deepest exhaust I have heard are the JBAs (I used to have them). They are pretty loud and get louder the more you drive with them on your car; however, I switched to SLP because the JBAs just weren't loud enough...

The slp loudmouths are pretty loud and they sound good. I have noticed they are getting a little louder. I have had them about 3 months now. They seem to be louder now at 5-15 mph which the really did not do when I first got them LM performance is where I got them at. Did anyone else notice that they have jacked the price up to $314. I paid $220 back in May.

you got what was coming. You saw the cop car, then you "laid her down." That wasnt very smart.

I live next to the sheirff's station. I go by it everyday. I see hundreds of cops, never have i been pulled over doing my normal driving for loudness. I know its loud, but not loud enough for the cops to care. Unless you are doing what Bighunter did. So if you are going to be worried about cops, dont be. One thing tho, its really loud when its cold. Its either that, or its in my garage so it amplifies things. But i have noticed that when its cold, it gets about 1.5x louder.

How are they compared to Magnapaks? anyone?? I also have considered throwing a prochamber H on for some extra HP..but not sure how that would sound. Like I said before...all I want is the lowest grumble that's nice n loud also..once I find that, I'll be happy! I've got a buddy with a 2003 GT that has a flowmaster american thunder series H-pipe and it sounds amazing.. nice and loud with a great grumble .I want that sound...but '05 style. Unfortunatly, haven't heard anything similar yet, thats why I need some help, Car's comin in 2 weeks guys, I need to make a decision!!!

Your right I guess I had it coming to me but I guess I dont really know how loud it is. Besides it turned out that I knew him. After the stop was cleared I started my car back up with his right behind mine and could not believe how loud the startup was. I thought he was gonna pull me over again and say something. I take it easy in town now. It is like a new toy though. I dunno why I spent to much on the shaker 1000 I always turn it down when I shift. That is one song I dont get sick of hearing.

I am trying to make a decision on what Axle-back exhaust to get now that some of my engine mods are in place,

I also want the Low Rumble sound (70's Muscle Car Sound) Loud but controlled. Can the SLP Loudmouth's Deliver?

Also looking for a Throttle Body replacment, I want a better response time on the gas peddle.

My Goal it to get an Automatic Trans GT into the mid to High 12's under 2 grand and with bolt on mods (non mechanic type mods). Can it be done?
---------- MODS to Date -----------
2005 Mustang GT w/ automatic Trans.
K&N Air Charger intake
Underdrive Pulley
Plasma Booster Ignition
SCT XCalibrator Tunning
