Tomorrow is scheduled to be engine install day. Today, I thought it might be a good idea to prime the oiling system on the engine while it was still on the stand. Stuck the drill down there, and gave it a whirl. No go. The brand new oil pump was seized. I'm so glad I tried to prime it before I put the engine in the car. I can't imagine the number of curse words I would have used if I had found that out after the engine was in the car.

Yesterday became kind of a disaster, but I was determined to get the engine in. I got another oil pump from Advance, came home, and the promptly screwed up while notching it. I ground it down jut a little too far and ended up in the input shaft. In a moment of desperation, I tried welding it. Some slag got on the impeller, and locked that one up too. I had to drive all the way down to Cobb county to find another high volume oil pump. Got home, notched it, and it worked perfectly. Then once I got the engine up on the hoist, I realized that I had no idea where my 26 spline clutch alignment tool was. I have a stack of 10 spline ones. I managed to find a 26 spline one for a dodge at Advance that wasn't perfect, but worked well enough. The fiance and I got the engine in the car about 8pm.
With the QA1 K-member, I wasn't able to get the engine mounts in the back slot. The engine seems like it sits a little farther forward than stock. I hope that's not an issue.

Seems like you had a very busy and angry day, and i smell a new steering shaft with that QA-1 K-member, I know i had to get 99-up steering shaft because my stock 94-95 one would not reach the steering rack, Let me know if you need the 99-up steering shaft since i have a spare, you can have it. It's like new except i painted it black.
I don't want you to get angry again and throw something and that bounces back and hits you on the head, lol

I would imagine it's worth the extra effort to try and get it to fit in the rear slot of the K-member. For even just drag racing, you could be talking an extra 50lbs on the rear wheels easily. For regular driving, it could help mitigate oversteer. For front engine cars, pushing the engine down and back is almost always better all around.
There is no reasonable way to make it fit in the rear slot. The front slot is suposed to be the factory location. If it doesn't have pulley to fan interference, I will just leave it. I'm also worried about the drive shaft being too long if I move the engine back.
