Anyone done business with or heard of Smeding Engines in Texas.. I can't remember the name of the town but its a bit northwest of San Antonio ... They make a good impression from their website.......

I'm in Texas, all of 125 miles from them, and I've never heard of them.

Recommended by the corvette site.. I see they do a SBF stroker too....
Thinking of a 383 SBC in my corvette project and Smeding seems to specialize in these... Looks like they put a nice engine together... Couple grand more than a blueprint...

I'm about to throw together a small block Chevy for my Sonoma... if I don't take the easy way out and LS swap it. Somehow they never came up when I was looking at crate engines to see if I'd have to put in the time to build a 400hp engine for it. (Figured out I can build one for about half of what anyone charges for a 400hp crate 350.)

When it comes to a Ford stroker, there's a guy on Youtube that shows how to build a 387ci Ford for stupid cheap (393 stroker crank, stock forged 5.0 pistons, stock bore 351W block). If I ever buy the Ranger back from my old man, that's what's happening to it. :rock:
