I ripped them off my 5.0 and have never once been hasseled by ford dealers, local shops, even cops most of the time ask to see whats under the hood so i think you'll be fine, by the way i live close to edmonton and will be at the 1/4 every weekend so maybe we'll see him there

no smog, just safety. Count on being raped at the safety check for at least 500-1000. Brakes, ball joints, oil leaks, etc. Stay the **** away from any 'blaskin and lane' service shop.

Inspections are a cash grab for most shops.
My sister -in-law moved to Sask and they failed her new SX because they said the horn wasn't loud enough.

When you go to get it saftied, just tell the mechanic that you will do everything yourself, your just not a registered mechanic.

That way they won't bother to sell you anything and they get the impression that if they do recomend something, they think someone else will look at it.

I had my safety done at Canadian Tire and they passed me no problem. I didnt trust them thinking they barely looked at my car and passed me so I got my buddys dad (licensed mechanic) to look it over and he passed me too.
