SMOG HELP

anyone have advice on how i can get my 90 5.0 LX smog passed without using my smog pump or cat system. smog pump is broke anyway and don't wish to replace it just to turn around and not use it after the test and i am getting ready to put on a new flowtech exhaust system with the x-pipe replacement for the h-pipe.

some people say to make sure your timing is at stock. another thing someone said was about when you drove up there. dont drive around alot and get your car worked up. let it rest for a while and then get up there or something like that? you need to do a search of this forum to find it. i know i read something crazy like that
