Hi All,

Anyone know what size bolts to plug the holes on the heads behind the eng block? Also, what's the best way to plug that h-pipe tube that usually goes to the smog Sheeat?

i left the tubing that goes to the back of the head and just removed the rubber hoses from the passenger side. i used a rubber bypass plug from the HELP section of the parts store on that, then i got out the rotary tool and cut off the pipe going to my prochamber and i put the other bypass plug over the opening in the prochamber. when i do the head swap i will take care of those other lines going to the back of the heads. either way good luck.

9/16 NC is the thread. And bolt will do, just add some thread sealer to it and tighten it down. Add washers if you have to.

I actually use aluminum tape to plug any pipes. That worked for me so far.

Good suggestions. I want to remove the piping on the engine so I will probably block off the holes with the suggested 9/16 nc (coarse thread I found out).

The bend and weld is ideal but I may try bend and "crimp" and aluminum tape for the short term.

Yeah, 9/16NC means 9/16 diameter, and NC means national corse........If it says NF that means national fine......I couldn't remember the thread count per inch, so I just said NC b/c you could figure it out from there.

Anyway, do you have a local grainger? They will definately have it... Try some fastner companies, they should have it.
