what did you guys do with the tube that comes out from the back of the heads.

I just put a rubber cap on the end of mine.

Or remove the tubes. Cut the pipes off of them and flip them around backwards so it seals the hole on the head, you can also use a spark plug to fill that hole *unsure what size threads correctly*, or there are correct "plugs" you can buy for the back of the heads.

Mine are currently done the first way not the best way but it works.

yea, kinda like one of these but shorter... Picked it up from a local hardware store in the home section with all of the hinges, hooks, etc... Guess they go on the bottoms of the legs on a chair to keep them from moving. You can also cut the tube like mentioned above but why???

Yes they could but mines been on there for years and didnt have any problems with it at all... Its not like that pipe gets to 1500+ degrees like the headers do.

Mine had a rubber cap on it that is how the last owner did it. I cut the tubes cus they are ugly and where in the way when I did my Longtubes. And since I have no cats, egr etc. it is just extra junk.

Yes they are kinda hard to get to, but since i'm doing the head's and intake i did mine all at once! I'm in the process of putting a delete kit together if any one is intrested? peace

The hardest part is trying to get the tube out once its unbolted. The bolts don't come all that easy, but using some muscle will get them. The tube will need to be bent or cut to get it out. Also, if you plan on taking the tube off that goes to the h-pipe, that will need to also be cut. I bought 2 plugs from the local Ford dealer that they said are required for plugging the heads. I believe they were about $3.50 for both. To put them in your heads, find a bolt that thread into the plug (you'll know what I mean when you see them) and just screw the bolt with plug on it into the back of the head. The thread pattern I believe is very wide, thats why a simple bolt can't be screwed into the back of the head. To plug the h-pipe, I simply cut off about 3 inches of the original tube and hammered it flat and folded it over a few times, then put it back on with the clamp.

For anybody who wants to keep extra junk around to go back to stock later you can get the tube out without bending/cutting it. Atleast I did.

Are we talking about the two holes in the back of the heads? (one in each head) Well if so, I just used a pick thing and got most of the old carbon out of there, and then screwed in some bolts with washers and I'm pretty sure the old carbon that is still in there will help it seal. If not I'll just put some sealer around the bolt.
