Here my problem, I got my car with the smog pump already gone, the guy just ran a shorter belt. Now every belt lasts me about 2 weeks then it starts rubbing together and then breaks. Does anyone make a smog pump delete that I don't need the stock bracket and hardware to use?

From the sounds of it you need to re-rout the belt.
Over the waterpump, then under the crank.

795.0 just helped me with this a couple days ago. works better. had the same prob before. you'll probably need about 1" longer belt.

This has been posted all over. I had to bypass the smog pump when mine siezed one day. I think I had to try a few different lengths since I have underdrive pulleys.

How long of a belt and what route would you go if both a/c and smog pump were removed? Thank you.

That last diagram is what I was talking about.......I used the Red belt layout and ran a 71" belt.

No Smog pump with a FMS A/C delete kit (PS moved up)

No.....if the backside (flat) of the belt is on the pulley, you are going the correct way no matter where it comes from.

Hey Bloop n Dave so I could run it like I drew it with a 72 inch belt? I didn't see powersteering on your drawing Bloop. Am I to assume you put the p/s where the a/c pump was? If so could I run mine with the p/s pump where it belongs? Thanks a ton sorry to TJ.

i only edited the drawing to show the belt route. yeah the ps pump moves to where the ac was. i dont think your drawing would work i think the water pump gets in the way. thats why you need a delete kit. 72'' is with UD pullies. they change the belt length.

Darn. So I guess I have to keep running it with the a/c pump and smog pump on there until I get a kit. Seems like unnecessary weight and could be losing power for me. *Sigh* Thanks for your replies.
