While the bellhousing and tranny was gone it was way to easy to gut all the smog pump stuff, i got a bypass pulley and blocked off the holes in the back of the block my only question is what do i do with those two lines that were coming into the assembly vac hoses i would guess. Do i just plug them up or can the be traced back even further? I love the amount of room on that side now, those will be the easy plugs to change. And 2nd question what is preferred tranny fluid for the t-5 and how much does it take, it looks like you fill through the speedo opening and there is a sight hole in the side do you just fill to that level or does it rake more? thanks for the help Dan

Don't know about the smog pump lines question. But ... the T-5 fluids ... I used B&M Trick Shift in mine - I think it calls for any Automatic transmission fluid (Mercon). I cant say for sure, but I BELIEVE it holds like 3.6 quarts or something - you can't over-fill it if you stop when fluid comes out. If you are on the passenger side (under the car) there are two fill holes that use a 3/8" ratchet. Use a pump to pump it in there. The lower hole is to allow it all to drain out, the upper hole is where you add it and as soon as it starts pouring out of the upper hole - it's filled! Easy maintenance. Synthetic fluid will make the tranny sound louder - just a PS!
