Hi, New to the page and just recently switched from my stock oil pan to a moroso 7 quart. I left the motor sitting without oil for a week because I had to go out of town for the holidays. Once I bolted everything back together and added 7 quarts of oil I noticed smoke coming out from around the headers or spark plugs. Any guess what this could be? I'll try posting a video tomorrow morning, but any advice would be helpful. Car only ran for a few minutes as it's pretty late already. Also sounded if the car wanted to turn off towards the end of it running.

Did you spill oil on them when you topped off? Leaking valve covers?

No oil spilled on them, hard to pinpoint where the smoke is coming from it might be coming from the valve covers though. Any advice?

so you changed the oil pand and most likely

  • used brake clean on the mating surfaces
  • have residue oil or other gunk that flew somewhere
  • have some moisture buildup in the motor

Does the smoke smell like oil? what color is it? My guess is it's something that needs to burn off as smoke rises. Go back and make sure all of your oil pan bots are snug.

Check to see if the PCV popped out of the back of the intake.
