This winter I will be doing the SN95 rear disc swap on my car. I already have a 93 Cobra booster in the car and I have been rounding up other parts. I have a 94/95 MC along with calipers, rotors, and axle brackets from a 7.5 my buddy had left over from parting out a car. The stuff was free, but he had to have the soft lines. Also, he didn't remember what year the car was.

I need to buy soft lines so which year should I get to use on my Fox hardline: 94-95 or 96+?

Are there any variances in rear V6/GT calipers from 94-04?

My car is a '93 with the one-year-only e-brake cable setup. What cables do I use?

Use 94-95 soft brake hoses. You will need adapters to make the rear hard lines fit the 94-95 soft lines. I forget the sizes, but they can be bought on Ebay, possibly MM, but I got mine from Autozone. V6 and V8 brakes are the same. Buy the 93 cobra parking brake cables and get the FRPP threaded cable for the parking brake handle. Also do the parking brake mod.

Good luck with it!

Thanks for the help, Joe. I know that the calipers are the same between GTs and V6s, but were the calipers themselves changed between '95 and '96 and are the two styles of soft lines interchangeable?

I'm not sure about changes between 95 to 96. I think, but not completely sure, that the calipers stayed the same until 99. I used all calipers off of a 2004 V6, but I used all 94-95 soft lines. The reason I used the soft lines is because they are standard connections versus metric. I'm not sure when they went to the metric fittings, but I know they were on the 99+ cars, not sure about the 96-98 cars.

The stock fox rear fitting is a 3/8". The 94-95 hoses are a 7/16". So you will need an adapter that goes from 3/8 to 7/16, which can be found at Autozone or Advance for about $1.5 each. The 99+ cars used a M10X1.0 fitting for the hoses. This is why I steered away from the 99+ hoses.

Ok, just looked at AutoZone's website. Looks like the 96-98 cars use metric fittings as well. I would definetly go with the 94-95 soft lines. You will also need an adapter for the front passenger's side hard to soft line connection. It too can be bought at Autozone or Advance Auto Parts. The front fox hardline is a 7/16 on the passenger side and the 94-95 soft line is a 3/8, so you will need an adapter for that too.

I hope this helps and answers all your questions. Feel free to ask more, I did this swap a few months back and tried to find the parts the cheapest way I could. MM charges three or four times as much for these simple adapters.

Just to clarify, when I talk about the metric and standard fittings, I am referring to the soft line and hard line connections. Just reuse your existing banjo bolts with the new banjo washers that come with the soft lines.
