i see alot of people argueing in threads about how much hp can be squeezed out, n/a. if i got the best cams and heads and intake and everything, how much hp could i get out of a 2V 4.6 without forced induction?? 500 possible?

if 500 not possible.. what motor would be the best to do all motor n/a 500hp project?

500 crank (maybe more) would be possible from a 5.3 2v with trickflow heads, a good intake, etc. Even more with a 5.3 4v.

I will one day do a big bore 5.4 4v build. 5.8l when its all done. That would be a beast NA!

You really need to ask yourself, what budget and RPM you can do. 7500RPM costs double 7000RPM, 8000RPM costs double 7500RPM, and so on. 500RWHP NA from a 4.6 is pushing well over 9000RPM.

A new 5.0 is probably $10K to get installed in your car by the time its done nickel and dimeing you and it ain't hitting 500RWHP either.

Any 4.6 block will work. I'd go with the Teskid block or WAP. Or you could just get the boss 5.0 block from FRPP and stroke that to get 5.3L.

If you want 500+, the most economical is going to be FI... forged internals with either a Kenne Bell S/C or a Hellion Turbo Kit. You could get a new 5.0 and build it up with cams and headwork... but you're still looking at a significant investment in just the engine and fabrication before building the top end. If you do N/A I certainly would look at the Coyote... it's really the only way I see you getting anything streetable N/A. (unless you want to put a mean as hell LS1 under the hood )

500 is a pretty substantial goal. Considering your current mods and depending on your budget- start low and go slow. Slap on a basic s/c kit and work at that hp level. Then add as your driving skills improve and your want for going faster increases.

Not going to happen on an NA 2v 281.

300-330rwhp was being done 10+years ago with svo heads/intake. Not sure where the numbers are at now, but NA is expensive.

Ever thought about putting eletric cutouts on your setup? I gained 11hp and 3ft tq on my last dyno run with them on my ls6 cam car. Cutouts or no mufflers don't sound great on a 2v, but it might be worth another .05-.1 on your car.
