I've had this car for almost 7 years....and 6 of those years its been in pieces in a garage somewhere. This last weekend...on Saturday....I actually drove my Mustang!

It needs a tuneup and an alignment like you wouldn't believe, but....it moves!

Its not ready to be street legal yet, I still need new wing mirrors and windshield wipers, but its almost there.

I know normally, you do a mod over a weekend, or a few months and then you're back on the road. In the 6 years that this mustang has been down, here's what I've done:

Fresh paint ($3500 worth)
Cervini's Cobra kit (kept GT spoiler)
Cobra 5-lug conversion (25th anniversary Cobra Calipers)
99 Cobra wheels
new headliner
diamond clear headlights
Maximum Motorsports C/C plates
Motor/T-5 out of a donor car (don't know if there are any mods to it, but it runs its balls off)
Mass Air conversion
Fresh T-Top weatherstripping
New cowl
fresh black metal doorhandles
Stewart components Stage-1 Water pump
Brand new fan and police fan clutch
balanced 180° Thermostat
FMS blue heater hoses (with heater core restrictor)

Mods on the car when I took it down:
Maximum Motorsports LCA's, Strut tower brace, K member brace, std subframe connectors
Ford 'C' Springs
B&M Ripper shifter

I don't have any pics yet as it still needs a good wash and polish, but I hope to have some next week. But I'm just happy as hell.

Also, on a side note, it was the first time driving the car w/ the upgraded brakes....so THAT's what a stopping Mustang is supposed to feel like.

Thats exactly it, Ryan. I'm broke as crap. Also, I was unemployed right after I took the car down, so that didn't help. But yeah, when I only gross $19k/ year this is a freaking accomplishment.

Remember that thing I kept suggesting you get, if you didn't already have one in place when you were doing your heater core swap thread? The "heater core flow restrictor?"

It's basically a sort of in-line reducer you stick in the input heater hose to reduce the amount of available flow going into the heater core, so you don't risk blowing the thing out at high-RPM and causing a fresh leak. You can get 'em from Ford, or just make one on your own, if you're good with a lathe...

I hear ya,congrats on getting it done. My stangs been sitting since April when I bought it. But now it runs, drives, looks a hell of a lot better and leaks less oil ha ha. Sucks having no garage or extra money. Flat rate isn't what it used to be a few years ago.
