at 54K miles. :(

Yes i know. I should have done it a LONG time ago but i kept forgetting to get one. Anyway took all of 5 mins to do. I get the old filter off and tilt it to the side to drain the old fuel out.

If i tilted it to the side forcing fuel BACK toward the gas tank, black dirt and muck came out!!! I couldn't beleive it! It looked like mud!

Luckily tilting it towards the engine produced clean fuel.

Hopefully it cures me detonation with 87 octane and POOR fuel economy problem. :) I'm going to start changing these every other oil change.

BTW...i'm about to go tackle plugs next. 54K on original plugs. I figure why not??

I'm also doing an oil change, changing the belt, cleaning the K&N and flushing the brake fluid and doing a rear brake job (Brembo OEM rotors and Ford OEM pads) :)

Nice day for maintainence

Holy crap!! It feels like i gained 20HP!

The engine is smoother and much more responsive. I didn't even get a chance to change the spark plugs. I'll do that next weekend. But it feels like a totally different car to drive now!

I'll def be changing my fuel filter more frequently!

Ha was out driving again tonight. DEFINITE power improvement and response.

I wouldn't call it an increase. I would say the clogged stock filter was robbing me of power over time. I was wondering why towards the end of the summer i couldn't chirp tires into 3rd gear anymore, pinged with 87 octane and was only running 14.4-14.5 at the track when i ran a 14.1 with it 3 weeks after buying the car.

Yeah when I changed mine after I first bought the car I was disgusted.

I just changed it again at the 30k interval it was allready nasty. Brown coming out from the tank side... yum. It felt smoother and pulled smoother. As it did with new non ashed out plugs also.

Hopefully when I do the COP's ill get the best improvment.
