at 54K miles.
Yes i know. I should have done it a LONG time ago but i kept forgetting to get one. Anyway took all of 5 mins to do. I get the old filter off and tilt it to the side to drain the old fuel out.
If i tilted it to the side forcing fuel BACK toward the gas tank, black dirt and muck came out!!! I couldn't beleive it! It looked like mud!
Luckily tilting it towards the engine produced clean fuel.
Hopefully it cures me detonation with 87 octane and POOR fuel economy problem.
I'm going to start changing these every other oil change.
BTW...i'm about to go tackle plugs next. 54K on original plugs. I figure why not??
I'm also doing an oil change, changing the belt, cleaning the K&N and flushing the brake fluid and doing a rear brake job (Brembo OEM rotors and Ford OEM pads)
Nice day for maintainence

Sometimes it's the simple things that make us
the most!!! I have my fuel filter sitting in the top of the toolbox just waiting.
Maybe next weekend!
