so i saw the 05 saleen today!

but you can't unless you goto saleens factory in irvine, ca for their show today. here is why. we waited in line to go into this room in groups of 5. they had tons of black curtains blocking off where the car was. then when you got back there they opened these curtains and you got a 3/4 view of the car. got to look for about a minute then they closed the curtains and you had to leave so the next group could come in. couldn't see the back end of the car, just the front. but it looked sweeeeeeeet. saleen did it again!

I think the only way to describe it is:

You will not be dissapointed. It had some very nice vents on the hood. I can't really describe it. The guy wouldnt let me go around the car to get a look at the exhaust.

So, . . . why all the cloak and dagger treatment? To be honest, this description of the unveiling sounds pretty ridiculous in the light that they are trying to sell a very expensive product to the public. "Power in the hands of a VERY few" maybe?

i can't describe it lol but it was sweet. it was nothing hideous like the roush cartoon, this was a real car. they didn't mention anything about the interior. when asked the guy said they have everything complete and they will release it on oct 28 i think.

Nope. It didn't have the plain-jane hood and the front end was much different. Couldn't really get a good look at the side of the car from the angle the guys gave us. Right before I went in there, there were some designers and other execs looking at the car so they took a long time and we were rushed through there.

heh, well i figured if they were going to release it then they would do so. i didn't think they would still be keeping it under the covers for another month. there were 3 guys in the room where the car was shown. 2 pulled back the curtains and the one was telling you about the car. in fact when i went through we had the head engineer for saleen. i had talked with him for a while about the s7 when i was down there before.

no performance specs were handed out and the guy didn't say anything about it when he took me through. just that we were going to see a 3/4 view of the car and that they are all done with it, what we see is what will be produced, no changes.

hehe, i would have tried to come up with something if i knew it was gonna be like that. i took my camera figuring they would allow pics to be taken. i heard the release date was the 17th but the show was the 18th. thought i wouldn't even have a problem taking pics of it.
