Yeah I wasn't impressed at all. Think my 97 would've been real close to taking it. Thought these things were supposed to be mid 13sec range? This car had 32k and had some serious vibration in the clutch/flywheel. Guess it was just a POS.

It's only rated at 105 HP and 32 ft. lbs more than your 97. That's, oh, 1.5 seconds? 2?

wasn't it the 99's that needed the "fix" because they were overrated from the factory?

A 99 Cobra would destroy a 1997 GT... Maybe it had some issues...

Yeah, it must have had some problems because unless your 97 had every bolt-on you'd have a hard time hanging with a newer 4V. I'm not saying that it can't be done, just difficult. Gears may have been different. That really changes your SOTP feel.

We need to see your mod list for your '97--I've driven both, stock, and you cannot compare the two.

Yep, that was the 99s. I would imagine most, if not all, have had it done by now though. I can't imagine the kind of person who would buy a cobra not being concerned about the fix and getting it done asap.

And yes, as others have said 89 KS Notch, either your '97 GT is fairly far from stock or that Cobra was seriously screwed up.

My 97 don't have a whole lot done to it at all. Simple stuff like exhaust, cold air, and a timing adjuster. I was thinking that cobra may not have had the recall work done on it cause it was just doggy slow. Either that or maybe the vibration that I was feeling was only half the valves opening??
