So I went to the road course this weekend.

Started getting my feet wet and took the 95 to the road course saturday. I made it till the 3rd run then had an upper rad hose explode. (I'll have another thread in tech asking a few questions.) I spent lunch and another 2 sessions getting parts I needed. I went out one more session but shut down early cause I didn't want to push the car to the limit and I had to drive the car home. I must say, Falken Azeins RT-615s are awesome tires for the price. I'm not a road course expert nor do I have the best set up for suspension but these tires GRIP. Very predicable also. You can feel right up to the breaking limit and I was really stretching that limit. Overall, I'm hooked on road courses now.

The road course had around 11-12 turns and incorporated the front and back stretches. They had 3 classes based on skill levels. No pace cars or follow the leader stuff. Each class had a speed limit but they also remind us that they had no way of checking the speed.

AWESOME. I could tell that it help reduce body roll. Between them and the tires, my car was not too shabby for mostly stock suspension.

No, it was put on my Music City Mustang Club.

1.) I believe the intake vapor locked on me and built up too much pressure and the hose just couldn't hold it any longer. My auto meter mechanical gauge kept spiking on me. I believe that this pressure prevented water from going into the intake and an air bubble formed. Car has not had hot running problems till I was giving it hell on the road course. I have leak somewhere (head gasket,t-stat housing, timing chain cover, etc..). Hose was also a few years old too. I should have pulled into the pits to let the car cool but I second guessed thinking I could make it one more lap. Just one of those things you learn.

2.) you can get it as fast as you can make your car. They had speed limits for classes. Mine was 80mph for the novice class. Expert could go 120mph. They also had no radar derectors. I had mine up to 105 mph on the front stretch but I could have pulled easy quite a bit more. (est 120+) I just didn't want to push the people running the event. I was watching corvettes and porsches go easily 150 across the front stretch. The turns you don't expect to go fast. I don't even know how fast I was going. I was too busy driving.

3.) This event was $135 a day with a $50 a day garage bay rental fee. This is not the biggest road course but is well worth the money. Great bang for the buck. A few guys from my local forum are taking the vettes to Virgina International Raceway this week I think they are paying close to $500 bucks.
