I agree. I almost moved to FL last year, and I'm still kicking myself for not doing it. I suppose I still could, but now I'm working less because I decided to go back to college and get a career. This "being a responsible adult" crap is for the birds... :nonono:
:D

BTW, did you ever figure out what that hole by the distributor hole in the lifter valley was, and if it's ok?
it is a drainback for oil in the timing cover. it is supposed to be there. it just looks strange because of how jagged looking the hole is. joes motor has the same hole cut out the same way.

Damn that combo looks SICK. I'm moving to where you guys live so I can hang out and feel cool. :)
my only real concern is the block. im shooting for about 450hp to the wheels which should be easy. the internals are good for 800hp+ but the blocks limits are near 500. i just couldnt justify another $1800 for a dart or r block being that the car is a street car and i am in no way serious about drag racing. (i have owned the car for nearly 4 years of and on) and it has never been to the track.

i'd say if you keep the rpms below 6200 and you keep the timing in check, and run good gas, you should be ok at 500 at the wheels , oh and what tires are you running? drag radials would be the least with that much power.

i have always shifted the car no higher than 6000, 93 octane fuel, base timing retarded with the tweecer, and 315-35-17 drag radials out back.

im not convinced. the last civic i raced tore me a new one. with mods like altezza taillights and led washer nozzles available for those beasts, i am definitely at a disadvantage.

damn right roggie... i remember smokin' your ass in the black coupe :p . we need to do a green car vs green car run once we're both done with our setups. congrats on the parts btw. i'll try to swing by tomorrow and take a look at it.

yeah man. come on by tomorrow if you can. im curious to see how the stang will stand up to the civic when im all done. even if you do beat me though i can still keep the ear to ear smile because mine will still sound like an animal and not a lawnmower with an allergy. :D

If youre feeling ok Rog, Ill be calling about 2:30 or so to stop by... would actually like to see the Civic too!

if i am correct, the civic is as out of commision right now as my car, but ill tell you, it rips. its a fully built 1.8 integra motor in a 98 civic with a hefty turbo in it. instead of a race i think the better contest would be who can make more tire smoke in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. traction is a major issue for both of us. :D by the way, i should be feeling ok tomorrow rob.

Heh, I never saw that before... so I had to go run out and take a look at mine. Sure 'nuf, there be a hole there big enough to put my finger through. Learn somethin' new ever' day...

yours looks much cleaner than mine. mine looks like it was made with a hammer and chisel.
That block is not your original one rebuilt, right? Perhaps they used a block that started life in another application that did not need the hole. It has to be a roller block, of course, but out of what? Didn't the timing cover design change slightly for 94/95? Maybe something changed that requires the hole.

Yeah, I know, that's a pretty big stretch. :) Just making wild-ass guesses.
