Has anyone done it? Looks like I'll need the tranny, bellhousing and driveshaft spacer...2300 or so cdn$...

before I order the package, wanna know if it's the way to go, any suggestions?...

I'll be changing the k-member at the same time, and maybe headers (kooks) if budget permits...

My buddy swapped out a TKO 600 in his 95 GT. Its a good tranny as far as I've seen, don't really know how it differs from the 500. And it handles his 530 rwhp like a champ.

T56 FTW!

TKO is a very notchy and hard to shift tranny

I disagree. My buddie's TKO-600 is just as easy to shift as my 3650 was

I have the TKO 600, it shifts like butter..

the difference simply put...is the the 500 is recommended for 500 hp, and the 600 for 600.

I know one used for sale near you

Somewhat weird to tell you this on an american board but I don't know if you come on local board. There's a guy I know who sells it's TKO600 with Lakewood bellhousing, Tri-ax shifter and CF dual friction in quebec city. It's not too far from you. PM me if you want to contact him. It's at good price.

I have a tko 500 in mine for about over a year now. Works ok had problems shifting into gears at high rpm sometimes, but when it works it shifts great. If you love racing and thats what you need it for go with the a tko. If your mostly doing daily driving I would have gone with a t-56.

its just a straight up swap. you shouldnt need the driveshaft spacer. i didnt need one. and the spline for the 600 is a 26spline and the 500 is a 10spline. also the 500 is rated at 500tq not hp and the 600 is 600tq not hp. i love my 600. so all you need is bellhousing, clutch, and tranny.
