For a 17" I would go with the 275 DD, or the 245 for the 16". I have them, and thought they were good till I got boost. It blows them off in 2nd gear now. If your looking for an all around tire, the nitto is decent, but if your gonna drag, get the BFG's.

I don't know your goals or the amount, and type, of use you have in mind, but the more you care about track times the more I would suggest going a different path than the one you are contemplating.

the nittos are fine if you want to drive on them and get some sort of tire wear race every now and then and hook somewhat better than a standard radial but if you want to hook go with the mickey T they are freakin awsome feels like my rearend is trying to come out of the car they hit so hard the down side ti the mickeys is that you really want to keep the street driveing down to a minimum

I seem to find that this opinion of the Nittos is synonymous...I have a hard time understanding why, but again I have not owned BFG DR's. I have had their common street radials that couldnt handle normal wear on my v-6, so I hated them with a passion. As for the Nittos, I have ran in the 12's with em on boost, and my old mans 03 Cobra w/at least 450 at the wheels cant lose traction in second gear once warmed up. I simply cannot argue with the majority on here, but I will tell you if you get the DR's from Nitto you wont be as disappointed as the general consensus on here leads you to believe.

I ran 11.67 @ 121 with a 1.9 60' on worn 275 Nitto's, I dont see a problem with them You just got to know how to drive with them.

Until you try either the BFG's or the M/T's and realise how crappy the nittos are by comparison

The nittos are more suited to a daily driver that doesn't swap the tires though, figure you can go ~6K miles on the nittos (2 years driven daily), ~3K miles on the BFG's (one year driven daily) and ~1500miles on the M/T's (6 months driven daily).

Ask PCinPDX what he thinks of the Nitto vs. Mickey T debate. He's tried both. I think he picked up about .5 second with the mickey's. Very good tire, went 1.67 to 60ft in my stocker with a 235/60!

Yes they did work since I drove it every single day back and forth to work, and when I went to race, I drove it 1+ hours one way to the track each time, Drove the Nitto's to Boise ID and back, and they still have good tread on them to this day. The only time I have seen a 1.6 60ft was on slicks and you were there, the power to weight of a car plays a huge factor in this matter also.

And speaking of PCinPDX where the hell is he, his cell phone number belongs to someone else now Need to ask him about his custom rear ABS brackets he has on his car.

I agree nitto's are horrible! I have bfg's now which are far superior.
275/40/17's

Only bad thing is the MT's don't come in anything smaller than a 275/40 with a 17" wheel. Dave is looking for a 245. Dave what are you planning to use them for? Race or daily drive on them?

Exactly the point I was making. If you drive them well, they are an amazing tire. I have had mine for three supercharged years and drove them HARD. I have at least 15k on them, and still have decent tread as well. If I want a tire for the track alone, I trust the BFG opinion. If I want a "DAILY DRIVER" I choose Nitto without hesitation.

I don't disagree that the nitto will last longer than a BFG or MT's, I'm just saying that on the same car, same "track", the MT will own both. The nitto is a good tire for both street and track (And autocross from what I heard), but if your gonna try to put some power through them, get the MT's or BFG's. Will's car should have 60ft in the 1.6's-1.7's on the DR's. His 1.90 is good for a street tire, not a DR...
