So you think you have a fast all-motor 306?

He's a local guy, runs in the RAM Racing N/A Class. Very VERY clean car, extremely quick.

I'll send him a link to the thread.

Yep. These pics are from the nisest fox thread. It says 10.15@135 in there, but I'm not sure if that's when it had the 5 spd.

Ill tell you its been rebuilt some time between these two picks...

First is the vacuum pump and then the switch to a ProSystems carb, probably calibrated for the auto. Now heres were you can tell its been at least torn into, the heads are differant you can see by the way there cast around the bolt boss and front mount area. Also, notice the balancer...in the top pic,it looks like a Fluidamper, were as the other is an ATI I beleive.

Also the carb spacer may be just a little taller.

Uhm..... not sure why it even matters if it was rebuilt but:

The first picture I believe is from when it was first put together after Rhodes did the paint work. Notice anything missing from the first picture? There's a few things.

Heads look the same to me. I'm sure he'll stop by soon enough and tell you.

Well it matters because I want to know what both combos did,the differance.

As for the head, look just below the valve cover, the face looks differant, like its taller,of course it could just be the angle.

Another potential detail of interest is that it looks like he's using port flanges to convert the standard header pattern to diagonal.

Wow...lol

Thanks a bunch guys....

The motor in the pic was last years engine....12:1 compression Edelbrock headed 306...It went 10.92 @ 123 on motor.

This years combo is a TFS headed 14:1 306 built by Ron Rhodes at Rhodes Custom Auto. Best et to date is 9.81 @ 139................. Rhodes also did the paint work. Spence Hart did the smoothing of the engine compartment, chassis and cage...he also crew chiefs the car.

Next season will be basicly the same combo but with a change to a 3 speed transmission.....hopefully the car will dip into the 9.60 range.

Thanks a bunch

You car is one of the few I think is worthy of so much attention.

The 9.81 video is great, but I'd really like to see one of a 9.60!

Not to mention that car is on DRAG RADIALS, not slicks.

Badass car for sure.
