Good luck with the STi, but I guess you don't really need it cuz you are an excellent driver.

My only problem with all new Subarus are their high MSRPs, why so much for a small car that's in the same class as a Focus or Corolla?

He is right for ther most part a 96 Mustang GT makes less hp than a WRX. I can see how he got beat. He is intitled to his opinion.

It doesnt take a ton of money to make hp in an STI. A friend is making 456 awhp with his and spent less than 25k on the car and mods

Don't even compare a focu aka *****box or a Corolla to a STI. Have you driven one let alone sit in them? Seats are alot better and actually keep you in it. The enterior is better, better controls, Auto climate control, etc. The fact that you have a 300 hp awd car that can scoot to mid to low 13's just by changing a tire.

Subaru must be doing something right, they have the HIGHEST loyaylty customer rating and they keep coming back to buy them. Sometime this year I will be picking up a Legacy GT for a DD.

My friend just bought an 05 sti with a GT35R kit already on it making about the same numbers. On the way home the turbo seized. So he replaced it and it blew the motor the same night he fixed it.
http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ...TurboKit.shtml Only 3600
The car was said to make 494 on c16 at 29psi. 453 on pump.

My set up and I should be around after tune 500 rwhp, 431 now at 11psi stock top end.

2799.00 MMR 900 SB
4000.00 Sc/intercooler and support mods (Maf injectors tune etc)
1300.00 cams and exhaust tb/plenum being installed next month
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8099.00 = 500rw Dependable hp. You could do it for 5700-6k if you're nuts enough to do it with out a built SB.

4000.00 more for 650+ So 12,099.00 for 650+ RW dependable hp on pump gas.
About 1/3 the price. (T-trim upgrade stage 2 heads)

So if you bought a used GT for 6k and modded it for 12k you would have a Viper stomping, Zo6 whipping, bads azz stang for 18k. Not mention you don't have to run the fack out it..

His first misatake was not upgrading the motor with that turbo. Many suggest a built motor for that turbo

He was not running full boost just enough to make 450. Same hp as you friend. Besides he bought it that way. 450+ awd power is to much for the stock engine regardless how you get it there.

So what? It doesn't mean everyone has to bash him, he's not experenced on mustangs and some of up has schooled him on how good mustangs can be. It DOESN'T mean everyone should bang on him, he had a bummed mustang big deal, he has the damn right to degrade it, it's fords fault and his right to openly speak of his problems, it's what ford gave him insted of a good working car.

I've know some people that had Fix Or Repair Daily mustangs and it turned them off from all fords, and it takes them a ride in a normal working mustang to change their mind. I'm disgusted how this thread turned out.

And kilgore, you were their once before too
