Wing. I'm sure a wing is needed for downforce on this car, but it's overdone.

Thanx for the pix man. If they lose the wing and install some solid chrome or brushed wheels I'm in.

You know what? I think that we have seen SO many of those stupid "ricer" wings that when we see the real thing, we get turned off and some even assume it's there for cosmetics.

Look, in order for any rear wing or spoiler to effectively do its job it has to have a large enough surface area and has to be located where the air flow is going to be. That is why it is as big as it is and is located at the roof line. Look at any SCCA Trans-Am car...the wings are huge.

Personally, I'd donate a kidney to get that car. The thing has everything I'd ever want in a roadracer...except, for perhaps, a turbo. Everything on that car is there for a reason, not for cosmetics.

Look, I don't care HOW big that wing is! The whole car is gorgeous! That's one thing you can say with certainty, that wing serves a purpose, just like it did on the 2000 Cobra R. The more I see the car, the more I get used to seeing that wing. Besides, with 500 hp, it could be pink with purple polk-dots for all I care! Man, Ford kicks ass!!

I agree. It would be like every time you saw a chick with big boobs they had implants, which are nasty. Then, you see a chick with naturally big boobs and you instantly think hers are nasty too. But the thing is the are actually very nice boobs since they are real. So whenever you look at this car just think of that wing as a nice set of full natural breasts and you will be just fine!

It looks to me like the 302 fits in there pretty darn nicely. Maybe even room left for a s/c.

The ONLY reason for chrome wheels is cosmetics, same with he stupid yellow/gold paintjob. That car realy needs four ( I assume there's 2 more on the other side) 3"+ chrome exhaust tips surounded by an absolutely rediculous Chrome........thing? I'm sure the car is cool, that doesn't make it good looking. That thing looks like it came out of a video game, or a comic book. At least the interior is stripped.

Some people really need to lighten up. "NO!!! The paint scheme has two colors! Chrome wheels!! Damn you Ford!!! Damn you straight to Hell!!!"

Isn't that black and orange paint scheme, similar to the one on the classic Boss Mustang? I know many stangers love that paint scheme. Also the exhaust, I have seen that exhaust on a ton of roadrace cars with the exact same set up. I guess my point is, like everyone else has said, is that everything in this car is there for a reason, yes even that big ass spoiler. It makes more sense to have a spoiler that big on a 440 HP/440 TQ RWD Roadrace only Mustang, than it does on a 170 HP Civic.

That is one hell of a road race Mustang.

I'm not entirely sure those are chrome wheels. If you look at the pics.
http://www.seriouswheels.com/2005-Ford-Mustang-GT-R-Concept-Exhaust-1024x768.htm They don't reflect the same as the exhaust. Which is chrome. As for the chrome piece around the exhaust given that it looks like there is something behind it. Like a heat barrier possibly. I would think maybe the chrome piece is used to protect the composite body panels. Yes some things are a little more cosmetic than they would need to be. But this is a show car.

Seeing those tailights on a car that may be produced (even as only a race car) might mean they may be available as after market...I can only hope.

This is a cammer 5.0, not an OHV 5.0. Yes there is room for forced induction, but it is starting life as a 440HP Quad Cam engine.

I guess I should have been more specific. I wasn't talking about the paint or chrome finishes, I was talking about the actual equipment on the car. It is obvious that the car was designed with form following function.

Yes, I would have to agree that a little chrome does catch the eye, and the paint scheme is remenescent of the '69-'70 Boss 302 racers. Whether you like it or not, is a matter of personal taste, but I am willing to bet there are a lot of older Mustangers that fondly remember the old Boss's and were too young and poor to afford one at the time. Personally, I fell in love with bright yellow cars ever since I first laid eyes on the Boss 302's many years ago. Perhaps I am of the age group that Ford is looking at for customers. Ford is possibly offering a second chance to own a factory racer. I really hope this car goes into production.
