To make a long story short, some dumb-ss in a beat up early 90's Econoline 250 van rear ended my Mach 1 today!!!! It was raining today so the roads were real slick on the highway. Traffic was @ a dead stop in front of me & of course I was the last car in line. This guy was just driving too fast & not paying attention & I saw it but had nowhere 2 go. He slid into me @ about 5-10 mph so the damage wasnt that bad. He basically cracked the rear bumper cover slightly, broke the rear spoiler, & scratched up the rear of the trunk lid. At least that is all I see so far. Why are clean cars always magnets for p.o.s cars to hit them? Anyway his insurance should be taking care of this, so it should be allright. I just hope it didnt damage the frame. Since it is gonna be at the bodyshop soon, I figured this would be a good time to change a few things. I have always loved the look of the 03-04 Cobra rear spoiler. I was thinking about exchanging the Mach spoiler for the Cobra, what do you guys think? I would love to do the Cobra rear cover too, but I dont want it to say Cobra, so i think i will keep the stock bumper cover. Suggestions are welcome...Thanks

rear cobra bumper, letters shaved, and flat black cobra wing would be kinda cool.

That's a real bummer about your accident. The Mach is dead sexy as is. I would'nt change a thing about the exterior. I even really like the stock rims.

The stock rims are ok, but they are way too skinny imo. All stangs should come with at least 17-9's standard. 8 inch rims look like pizza cutters. Anyway, I love the Mach exterior also, but the Cobra spoiler is sexier to me.

Yeah, if I was gonna do anything, I think I'd just upgrade to some Chrome 17X9 Mach 1 rims with 275's all around.

The only Mach rims I like I beleive are made by Billet specialties. I think they are the Magnum 500's. 10 inch wide wheels are mandatory on the rears of any 94 & up stang IMO.

So even though I personally prefer the look of the cobra spoiler more, you guys are really making me give it some thought whether or not I want to change it because its a Mach 1. I guess I have a few days to decide anyway.

It's not my forum, but I'm sure one of the 4.6L mods will catch it.

Crappy deal with your car though.

I too vote for the stock Mach 1 look. Feel free to enhance the look with some bolt-ons rims and springs come to mind.

edit sorry you've done that already. Nice Mach!
