Some dumb-ss rear ended my Mach 1 today!!!!

That sux man at least he wasn't going faster. make sure you take it to a good reputible(sp) shop of YOUR choice no matter where his insurance says to take it. It is against the law for insurance companies to "pursuede" you to one shop over another just cause they're cheaper.

I took it to the shop 2day. I actually deliver parts to the shop I chose, so I am very familiar with there work. Most of the vehicles they work with are BMW's & Mercedes, so i knew they could handle the job. They actually repainted my bumper once already in November because when i bought the Mach it looked like someone had touched up the rear bumper & did a sh--ty job. When they repainted it, the paint matched perfectly color wise, but the finish was better than fords because it had alot less orange peel. Factory paint quality on most vehicles, import & domestic is pretty poor imo.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I have to agree with a few others...the Mach1 is a unique car and pretty damn sexy the way it stands. Should probably keep it stock.

On a side note...do I spy an old school 16V Jetta GLi? Had one as well as a 16V GTi and loved 'em both...

Yeah...I am probably just gonna keep it stock. The Jetta in the background is my 86 GLI. I wish it was a 16v though, its only an 8V. It does have the 15 inch Corrado BBS's though & its clean as hell. I come from a VW family, so I love em' too. I will post some pics later, gotta go 2 work now. I would have posted some a long time ago, but I didnt think any1 on here liked VW's.

Being a delivery guy has huge advantages when it comes to getting your car fixed. You know who does the best work and usually get parts discounted to you(for cash jobs not insurance jobs.) hope they do a good job.

As for factory paint ford is one of the worst with orange peel. Particularly black. most of you may not notice it but if you have a black car go and see if the paint has orange peel and i bet 99% of you will and the 1% that doesn't have had it repainted with or without your knowledge.

Heres a few pics of my daily driver 86 GLI, 8V, 5 spd. I needed a gas saver and didn't want a rice rocket. It also keeps the miles low on the Mach.Yeah its knowhere near as fast as a Stang, but at least it always makes the Mach still feel fast when I drive it. The exterior is in pretty good shape, & the interior is immaculate, other than its dirty in my pics because I need to vacuum & detail it. As much as I want to do the big bumpers & the round quad headlight conversion, the only mod Im gonna do is lower it 2 inches with an H&R cup kit. The cup kit includes lowering springs & shocks specially tuned. Yeah, I had to do at least one mod to it since I have to drive it on a daily basis. Other than that Im gonna drive it until the original 8V blows up & replace it with a 16V. I love the look of the old school BBS's. Cant wait to get rid of the 4X4 look, just gotta find the time to put the H&R kit on.

Yeah, they do excellent work. The BS about the whole situation now is that the insurance company is trying to force aftermarket parts on me, and saying I have no choice. Insurance is a big scam. They want me to use an aftermarket bumper reinforcement, brackets, & energy absorber. They even want me to use a reconditioned bumper cover if they can find 1. I want all brand new ford OEM. Even though knowone would know the difference, it bothers me because my car was all Ford when the a--hole hit me. Im gonna fight it...
