I never knew that that door panel is a small panel that covers the CENTER of the door instead of the whole thing. :bang: I was always wondering that because the area of my door around the center felt like metal, so i always wondered. "the mustang door panels are metal?:rlaugh: yeah, im kinda slow to these things!

so now, I have to paint that whole inside part black, because I want my interior to be black. Anyone have any suggestions of what kind of paint to use on the inside of the doors and the dash....? That lime green is hideously ugly!

Does it ever rust? cause mines look dirty, or maybe it looks rusted...surface rust...how can i clean that or prep the surface for repaint?

John

after you clean off any suface rust and other junk

wipe it down with laquer thinner and run a tack cloth over it before spraying.

Plastic media might work ok, but it would be far less trouble and mess to just get a pint of Jasco in the red and gold can. If that is the chosen method, be careful not to get it stuck in cracks where you can't clean it out (just use sparingly).

If the whole interior of the car is out and the doors removed, then media blasting may be easier or faster. Ideally you want to minimize roughening of the metal.
