Well, I finally got the coil spring installed on one side and something doesn’t look right. It looks like the spring is way too compressed when the strut is in the fully extended position. The spring is a Motorsport variable rate springs. I also installed QA1 adjustable struts as part of this. I adjusted the height of the strut per the instructions, but then had to lower the strut to clear the hood. The clearance was close, but it cleared. Granted these springs are supposed to lower the car 7/8 of an inch and I haven’t dialed in the caster/camber yet. I did, however mark the location of the old strut so I should have the caster/camber pretty close. I would still expect the lower A-arm to be angled more when the strut is fully extended. I have included a picture. If anyone else has a similar setup (QAI adjustable struts and Motorpsorts adjustable rate lowering springs (7/8”) and could snap a picture to send me to compare to that would be great.
I also don't have the engine in but I don't think this should matter. When I have the frame jacked up the strut extension will be the same with or without engine weight (right?).
