i have a 93 convertible lx with the 2.3. when i bought the car back in june it ran fine for just sitting in a lot for a lil over a year. then about a month after it started shutting off randomly when i was driving and wouldnt start up at all when i let it sit for a while. so i changed the fuel pump and the fuel filter. after that it kept not wanting to start or it would shut off while driving so i changed the sparks, wires, coil ignition mod, and battery. Now it will start everytime but it feels as if the engine isnt getting any power, barely goes over 20mph and shuts off a mile down the road. ive rechecked the firing order over and over again. any ideas of what it may be would be greatly appreciated thank you

Your catalytic converter may be clogged.

With you car in neutral, rev the engine can it go past 3000 rpm?

If it cant get past 2000 rpm +/- you have an exhaust blockage.

Another way to check is attack a vacuum gauge to the engine and slowly rev it up, if the vacuum decreases as RPMs slowly increase, you have a blockage in your exhaust.

Just going over the basics so don't yell at me.

Did you check your air filter as well? Squirrels and mice love to nest in intake tubes. Ask me how I know.

Should be under the hood, on my '90 its between the master cylinder & the fender.

Times two on the cat blockage. My 1st thing to check. You can also unbolt the tube at the axhaust manifold and see if it runs (bypassing the cats and muffler)

If this isn't the problem - you could have weak or bad coil packs. I know you said you replaced the module - but packs do go bad too!

lol. And grocery store plastic bags too.... I had one somehow make it into the intake tube and plugged up 90% of my air filter...
