I have an 88LX with an AOD and stock 2.73's soon 373's or 410s, I can't stand the shift points on my car its driving me nuts. I like the 1D1 shuffle but, I guess that it very hard on the tranny, What can I do to make it a fun car to drive?? I am pretty upset with it.

I have seen kits from Baumann, Transgo, And new valve bodies from Lentech
Does anyone know the difference between the 3?

Being in drive what are the rpm shift points now? with either of the kits and new VB
It sure would be nice to hold the gears without worrying about the tranny. I only use OD when over 50mph is that ok. Only way I get get my exhaust to howl is if I hold one of the gears. If I didnt do that I would never hear my exhaust setup.

Converting to a T5 is out of the budget and time :(

Thanks guys

Baumann and TransGo are actually shift kits that modify your current valve body. The Lentech unit is a completely different valve body that has been reworked and is probably the best way to go, but you are going to drop 350+ on a lentech unit whereas the Bauman and TranGo units will run you less than 100.

I would use the bauman, and you can adjust the shift points, but the 2-3 shift will be few rpm lower than the 1-2.
You can also do the epoxy mod and then the trans will hold 1st and 2nd and when shift lever is put into the od position it will shift to 3rd and then go to od when you let up on the gas.
The aod`s starting with 89 are the best to use by the way.
And for all that want a ton of info on AOD tran`s goto here http://www.clickclickracing.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12
I use the epoxy mod in mine but mine is not a daily driver.
