Okay I have the whole dash and interior out of my 86 GT at the moment and I'm going through the harness getting rid of stuff I don't need/want and I have some questions about a few connectors and what they go to. First up is a six pin connector that came from behind the dash on the passenger side and was never used from the factory. Still had the factory tape over the connections. I just want to know what it went to (obviously not an option on my car) and if I can remove it without causing trouble to other systems. The wires go across to the driver side and then split off different places. A couple look like they go into a large green connector near the floor and then back to the back of the car. I haven't traced them all yet. Here are some pics of the 6 pin/wire connector.
The wire colors are: red/orange, brown/blue, black, dark green/Light Green, red/pink, and black/purple
Then next connector I'm wondering about is in the rear wheel well area on the driver's side.
There are two of the same type of connector and only one has ever been used from the factory. I don't know what the other was for or if I need it. The one not in use looks as though it's jumpered to the one in use with three wires. Here are some pics.
The connector in question has six wires going down to three pins. The two wires for each pin are the same color. 3 of the six wires are jumpered over to another connector that is actually used for something else. Wire colors are as follows: 2x black, 2x red/light green and 2x light green/yellow. I actually think one or two of the wires from the connector behind the dash I'm wondering about make their way all the way back to this one in the back but I haven't dug that far into all the wires yet. The only thing I can think of is that maybe these two connectors had something to do with the convertible top on vert models?
