Any ideas on what to do for a spare tire for a 73 Fastback? I did not realize how small the trunk was until I tried to stuff a full size tire into the trunk of my 73. As I don't have a space saver tire, for now I am using AAA as a spare tire.

I used a donut from a '94-5 Mustang, and it works well on my SSBC-brake equipped '65 (you think your trunk is small!). The bolt pattern is the same as your '73, but you might want to find it at a salvage yard or somewhere that you can confirm the offset and clearance to your brakes before you commit to buying it.

I am in the same boat, no spare in my 72 coupe. I too have for the time being decided to just use roadside assistance as my spare. I also don't have a jack or lug wrench in the car either. On e of these days I will pick up a spare and the tools.

Its funny you say that, my car came with a jack and a lug wrench, but I found out the other day that the lug wrench is the wrong size! The jack looks correct but who knows at this point. I like the new Mustang space saver spare tire suggestion and I am going to start looking for one.

Carry a can of Fix-a-Flat. The big can with the non-flammable gas. It will fix a lot of flats long enough for you to get where you need to go.
