spark plug gap ?

If the gap is too large, one can see high RPM missing.
If too small, it can leave some performance on the table.

A symptom of too large of a gap is sudden power loss at high rpm's. The spark gets blown out, like blowing out a candle. Proper gapping also depends on what modifications you have, if any.

I had my Autolites gapped at .035 and they kept blowing out when i was getting dyno'd (many engine mods). No one knew why. 3 mechanics/tuners couldn't figure it out. Then someone in this forum suggested decreasing the gap - hallelujah!

:hail2: So this could be why my car starts misfiring bad at around 4500 rpms? I couldnt get a good pull on my dyno tune because of this problem and the only thing they said to do was change the plugs. I will put my new plugs at .030 then...thanks!!!
