speakers pop

I just installed a pioneer 4600mp to replace a non-working (mach 460) sound system h/u. Now, every time I start the car (during the starting period), the speakers pop once, fairly loud. Is there a way to fix this?

I installed the h/u by wiring the speakers to the pre-out of the h/u, and using the blue "system control" wire to connect to the darkblue "radio on" input to the initial mach amplifier. The black-green is connected to the h/u ground, and yellow and red are battery and ignition.

Thanks,

If I understand you right, this is what's happening:

1. Stereo is on, car is off. Key is in the "Accessory" position.
2. Start car.
3. Loud pop comes from speakers

If this is right, I have the same issue. However, I figured it's just the amp being reset upon start, and there's nothing to be done. I just turn the key to Off, then start the car. It's a workaround, but no biggie.

yup, that's right.
If I've got the stereo on, and then start the car, it pops.
It seems like it could hurt the speakers sooner or later, so I'm a bit worried about it.
If this is pretty common, someone must have come up with a solution.

Thanks, Chythar, for the input.

edit:
well, I've been surviving by just turning the key, then pressing the clutch to start the car...gives it enough time to turn off I guess
I've heard that a fix for this is to add a hefty capacitor to the power input of the amp, but this might be alittle more than I want to do for now...
