SPEC Clutch hitting bellhousing

I recently installed a Spec Stage 3 and im using a TREMEC 3550 Trans. The motor wouldnt turn over after I put the clutch in so I pulled the trans back out. I left the bellhousing in tact to find that the sides of the clutch are riding the sides of the bellhousing. Has anyone else had this problem? I do have the Dust Shield on there so its not that. I was using a Centerforce DF and that cleared fine, I just noticed that the Spec has some added material around the edges. I dont wana go cutting up a new clutch if I dont have to. Thanks.

First I would call your SPEC dealer or call SPEC direct, if you do talk to David Norton if you can.

I've never ran into that issue with one yet.

You need a bigger bell housing. I've heard of this problem b4. Make sure the housing is aligned properly. If thats not it then its the bell housing. Lakewood makes one, along with alignment dowels. Let us Know!
